Less you spend, the better trip
We tend to think that the more money you have, the greater the possibility of traveling in a pleasant and interesting things to see. This is partly true but in reality the economic availability acts as an insulator against the local environment and quality of travel in general.
It seems absurd, I know, but let's do some reasoning:
If you have money you will sleep in a hotel where the staff treats you with respect but can not be too friendly and the other guests are likely to be families or business people who are not interested in meeting other people. But if you go to a hostel here is that it will be almost impossible not to meet fellow travelers and make new friends.
If you have money probably eat in a nice restaurant where, again, the staff is aloof and does not talk to the next table.
But if you eat in the street stalls, a chat with the manager or a neighbor is more likely. If you have money you take a taxi instead of bus where you have to ask questions and maybe someone helps you, and ended up in a coffee together.

What I write is the egg of Columbus, but I'm glad that someone write it.
I speak for all of your writings in general that we see here on your site.
There is only a small discrepancy. You talk like a man who travels. A woman, though willing to adapt etc. etc. still encounters more 'difficult to travel "to the wild." And 'useless, and so there is no remedy. As a woman I experienced in my short trips crazy little adventures, but just call them crazy because, clear mind, I had in mind the risks they ran. I am a sociable person and I often do not realize that I create situations that could be negative or even dangerous to me.
Then I do not know, but all this travel and be "traveled" makes me think of the diseases that can be taken in today's promiscuity. I'm not pessimistic, but realistic. I do not know if you follow me.
I admire what you do and I wish you the best.
