Tracy Chapman Dear Deejay
It 'a guitarist who speaks to you. Indeed as a former guitarist, now that my love affair with the six-string seems to have turned off my two guitars and they stand in a dark corner of the attic gathering dust.
Now also listen to a little music, perhaps because they are too rarely in situations of solitude during which I can do.
Or maybe because I am a little hardened and is no longer easy to move me as before.

I have left you alone when, during my short drive, turn on the radio and you listen.
You're not a radio deejay specific, but one of many, are what I have heard this morning or that you will hear tomorrow.

I want to thank you because today you put a good song " Baby Can I Hold You Tonight , "by Tracy Chapman.
It is not my favorite singer, but it is a good song, which begins with a "Sorry. Is All That You Can not Say ... "and a warm, vibrant voice to the sixteenth seconds from the start I had already had the effect of a good glass of wine.
In a moment, being in that car by himself in the Venetian countryside after accompanying a friend to the station, became beautiful. As the song.
It was good to the movement, the country barren and brown and yellow leaves on the ground. It was nice to be there.
I also came up with an English girl who sang it 20 years ago in Taizé in France, and believed in her and we thought that we were singing and higher beings, because we believed that a song should weigh more than anything.
That knowledge we have lost, but for a moment you made me go back there.

I wonder how many people did the same effect. Do you listen to millions every day.

I am writing to tell you, because you know you can do a lot to us.
While we lost our problems behind the production of ants in the service of the Queen Mother, opened a hole for a moment and we see that we do something more.
It 'just as if you had a laser beam that shoots on us filled with energy.

Often wonder why you do not put good songs more often, forcing us to run away from a radio station to another to avoid the "new shit" that administers to us from morning to evening.
And 'the answer, it goes without saying, because the shit they sell new, while the beautiful songs we have already bought in the past and do not buy more.

And rightly so too must live radio, the songs are sold and DJs must adapt.
I understand and I will not criticize, but I wanted to remind you that we need great songs, full of shit we have life, and if you listen and to clean up a bit and go back to emotions.

They are precious moments, and depend on you.

Do not worry if only by putting good songs do not buy discs (Who the fuck buys records anymore?), But know that even in this world in some way is a way to thank you.
Perhaps more simply listen to your radio and advertising will be more efficient and you can sell to more money, not based on the number of listeners, but the conversion rate.
I do not know, but if you do not abandon us, we will not abandon you.

Or maybe you have already made these arguments and have concluded that it is better to listen to the shit people as possible.
It would be sad, but I understand that might be true.

But if so, your deejay would be lost that magical power to inspire and elevate us, and you'd be just another boring and vulgar prostitute on the freeway of life.
As far as you can pay I'm sure you'll agree with me that would not make sense.

Thanks for the song.

can be that you're atrophying a little brother? Look, nothing has changed. indeed, everything.
The shit was there before, maybe now there is more, but when an artist has alternatives to the record companies, there are many more beautiful songs.
Maybe you've changed, but it seems to early to give up and become nostalgic memories.
You know the internet? is a sea full of musical gems, never seen such quality as in the current generations. Certainly, we must dive with your ears open.
That DJ did not put a good song, you only have transferred a great time went. happens with the music.
maybe you take half an hour a day and you immerse yourself in the music arm of the sea, maybe you just want to sprinkle those guitars.

I was not comparing the music of yesterday with today's music, but the good with the bad.
In other words, pretend that instead of a song I mentioned a new old (good) and we understood :)

Yeah sure I agree with Luke, I add that there are many radio in Italy that fall within the range "adult oriented" songs are old, but most times it's just old crap. And, to finish the argument, a few days ago I felt emotions similar to those described by Luke listening to a song by Kings of Convenience (Behind Boat). It is 2009.
